THE SOCIAL INSURANCE SYSTEM IN POLAND
 
One of the components of the Polish insurance system is the social insurance system financed from the Social Insurance Fund, managed by the Social Insurance Institution.
Social insurance in Poland consists of:
 
·          pension insurance
 
·          disability pension insurance
 
·          sickness and maternity insurance
 
·          insurance for accidents at work and occupational diseases.
 
In Poland, besides the social insurance system there is a system of family benefits financed by the state budget funds and a system of unemployment benefits financed from a separate Labour Fund.
